Three Reasons to Not Negotiate with the Junta
1. A negotiation would be an insult to all those who have died.
Today to negotiate with the junta would be to sully the memory of our assassinated heroes on this anniversary of the vote which led to the independence of our country, to dishonor our mothers who were raped by those animals unworthy of being called human beings, to forget that those who survived are forever martyrs. Let us not do as in 2006 and 2007. Let us not negotiate, but instead, let us launch a civil disobedience to demand the departure of these schizophrenics. Let us respect the dead…
2. History must at least help us learn from our mistakes.
When the power-hungry are involved, regardless of the negotiation, it is very likely that it will fail. Remember, the people in the street had brought Kouyaté to govern with Conté, following a negotiation. But who got the last word? It was, of course, Lausana Conté. In the end Kouyaté even forgot that he had been put there by a population that paid with its blood. He didn’t even attend the ceremony celebrating the anniversary of the massacres of 2007. Today we see that the “exceptional” trajectory of our prime minister counts for nothing when faced with a junta that has no desire to establish a democracy.
3. It is reasonable to doubt the mental stability of Dadis and his friends.
Maybe it is not a source of pride for Guineans, but all the non-Guineans that I know, who have seen Dadis and his speeches, have asked me if he is crazy. How is it that such a person can become the leader of a country? I believe that we have a mad man at the head of our country. And if we do not profit from this opportunity to get rid of him through the international community, we are going right straight towards chaos.

Ne pas négocier avec la junte, mais la poursuivre
Guinée : N Pillay souhaite une enquête au plus vite sur la répression
C’est avec une grande joie que j’ai appris, comme toute la communauté guinéenne d’ailleurs, que la Haut Commissaire des Nations Unies aux droits de l’homme, Navi Pillay, va étudier comment apporter rapidement son aide sous forme d’une enquête crédible sur la répression sanglante de manifestants le 28 septembre en Guinée.

J’en tire deux enseignements :
1- Maintenons la pression :
Il faut qu’on soit prêt dans les prochaines semaines pour manifester notre impatience devant les bâtiments hébergeant l’ONU aux Etats- Unis et en Europe. Mais comme l’Onu ne peut agir efficacement en Afrique sans les Etats africains, il faut aussi exercer la même pression sur les représentations de l’Union africaine ou ambassades africaines (Sénégal, Lybie, Nigeria, Burkina….).
2- La fin de l’impunité, condition nécessaire à l’avènement de la démocratie, approche.
Si nous parvenons dans un bref délai à obtenir une inculpation des membres de la junte, cela créerait un précédent qui dissuadera tous assoiffés de pouvoir en Afrique de tuer nos frères et sœurs comme des animaux, en somme de tuer notre âme. Ce serait une victoire pour l’Afrique.
Mes frères et sœurs, je voudrai croire que cela (inculpation de la junte dans un délai court) mettra fin aux violences massives et arbitraires qui sont de plus en plus spécifiques à l’Afrique et qui amènent des esprits peu aptes à l’analyse des choses complexes à considérer que cela est génétique ou que cela est une fatalité.
